This exciting opportunity is open to students in Years 7 – 8 regardless of ability.
These netball skill and fitness sessions will be led by Jamilah Palu (nee Gupwell), a seasoned netballer who earned selection for the New Zealand Secondary Schools team, New Zealand U21, and New Zealand A squads. She represented the Capital Shakers from 2005 to 2007 in the National Bank Cup and in the ANZ Championship, playing with the Central Pulse between 2008 and 2010, returning in 2012, and also spent a season with the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic in 2011.
In 2025, Jamilah brought her expertise to coaching, serving as Assistant Coach for the QMC Senior A team, guiding them to a 7th place finish at the New Zealand Secondary School Nationals. She also coached the U19 Ikaroa ki Te Tonga team, leading them to 2nd place at the Māori Netball Nationals.
